What makes BodyWork different from Physical Therapy?

There are a few key points that make BodyWork different from a physical therapy clinic. First, you always get a one-on-one session with Rebecca for the entire appointment time. While physical therapy can be super beneficial, you often only get a few minutes with your physical therapist before you are sent to go through your exercises with a PT tech. Our one-on-one approach ensures that you are getting uninterrupted attention and care during your entire appointment.

Second, we are not restricted by insurance company reimbursement. As a cash-pay only clinician, we are able to provide services on an as-needed basis without the need to justify any services with an insurance company. This gives us the freedom to treat the body as a whole, rather than having tunnel vision on one part.

Third, with Rebecca’s background in the fitness industry, she is able to provide advanced rehabilitation techniques to get you back into the gym as quickly as possible. While the foundational exercises like bands and range of motion are important, the most important part is learning how to apply that into your exercise routine. Rebecca is able to take you beyond the foundational exercises learned in physical therapy, and bring that into your physical exercise so that you can continue to progress.

What We Offer:

  • Certified Athletic Trainers are one of the most trained and qualified clinicians in orthopedic evaluation of injuries. When an athlete is injuried on a field, athletic trainers are the first to assess and provide initial treatment for any injury. Avoid the hastle of trying to get in to see a doctor and let Rebecca be your initial visit.

  • Learn how to safely treat an injury so that you can return to your normal activities as quickly and safely as possible.

  • Injury prevention is one of the most important aspects to long-term health. Learn proper mechanics and specific workouts to ensure that you do not cause injury or re-injure a past injury.

  • Dry needling is a form of acupuncture that targets fascial trigger points to reduce pain, promote tissue healing, improve range of motion, and more.

  • Athletic taping can help improve stability so that you can continue to exercise while rehabing an injury. Rebecca is skilled in traditional taping for every joint, as well as kinesio tape. Come get taped before your workout or your pick-up basketball game to help prevent injury.

  • Whether you drop a weight on your foot in the gym, or cut yourself while chopping onions at home. Proper wound cleaning and closure are essential to preventing infection. Yes, we can clean and dress your wounds!

  • Joint mobilizations are an advanced technique that help improve joint mobility, decrease pain, and improve joint function. Joint mobilizations are extremely effective and can be performed on nearly every joint in the body, you would be surprised!

  • Cupping therapy has been used as far back as ancient Egypt. It utilizes suction to promote blood flow to the treated area. There are many therapeutic benefits of using cupping therapy. The most noted benefits are a reduction of muscle spasm, increased blood flow and pain reduction.

  • Scraping affects the inflammation response of muscle and myofascial tissue to aid in tissue healing. Graston Techniques utilizes stainless steal tools to promote the best possible environment for tissue healing, along with manual stretching and therapeutic exercise.

  • Massage can be used to reduce muscle tension and remove swelling from an injured area.

  • Myofascial release techniques focus on the layers of connective tissue that are dispersed through all muscle tissue in the body. This is extremely effective in relieving tension that is often confused with muscle flexibility.

  • Active Release Techniques incorporate muscle contractions and movement with trigger point release. This is a very aggressive yet effective method to reduce trigger points.

  • Corrective exercise encompasses specific strengthening exercises to correct and remove muscle imbalances that are causing discomfort.

  • We only do one-on-one personal training sessions to ensure that you are getting a customized workout plan. Whether you are completely new to the gym, or are an experienced lifter looking for a new routine. All levels are welcome.
